Katra, 29 August. One-Day workshop was organized at SMVDU to sensitize teachers about the importance of ICT based education and e- Learning technologies. The workshop covered the importance of MeLTs, The Mobile e- Learning terminals a project sanctioned by MHRD GOI under National Mission on education through ICT and the Need Assessment survey conducted to highlight the importance of ICT based education especially in the remotest areas. Various principals and faculty members from Jammu, Udhampur and Reasi districts of different colleges, higher secondary and high schools participated in the workshop.

The Chief Guest of the function Prof M.L. Garg Dean College of engineering SMVD University after welcoming all the participants highlighted the importance of providing awareness to the students about computer based education and current trends in IT Application. The MeLTs co-ordinator, Mr. Ajay kaul talked on the MeLT objectives and content management whereas the technical assistant of the project presented the application of networking in MeLTs.
