Katra, 31st August. SMVDU NSS cell with the help of Legal cell organized an interactive session on Legal Awareness. Mr. Kamlesh Pandit, Sub-Judge, Katra, and other officials from Katra Judiciary addressed the NSS volunteers and other interested students on variety of legal issues like special rights of women, legal status of ragging in academic institutions, right to education, right to dignified life etc. Around 50 students took part in the session and 35 students registered their names for the creation of para-legal-volunteer-group on campus. The group will work to bring about legal awareness about different issues. Students took active part in discussion and raised their quarries regarding reasons for delay in judicial procedure, affordability of justice etc. The session ended with a vote of thanks for the judiciary officials by Dr. VK Tripathi, Coordinator NSS.
